The Destination Wedding Experience

Walker and Alexandra chose to make their dream wedding a reality in Aurland after Walker, having previously visited, knew its breathtaking beauty.

The day began at stylist Eva's salon, where Alexandra had her hair and makeup done and some pre-wedding photos taken. Alexandra wore a stunning wedding dress and carried a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers. Following the photoshoot, Alexandra traveled to Aurland, where Walker saw her for the first time that day.

The ceremony took place by the Aurlandsfjord, with a small group of family and friends in attendance. Everyone on the jetty watched as a fiddler, followed by Alexandra and her father, walked down to the water's edge. Walker and Alexandra chose a humanist officiant for their symbolic wedding ceremony. The beautiful ceremony included the ancient Norse ritual of handfasting. It was a touching moment as Walker and Alexandra tied the knot with their handfasting cord and shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

Following the ceremony, guests toasted the happy couple, and they cut their wedding cake with a sword. After enjoying the cake, a quick photoshoot with the guests took place. Local Chef Laila then presented a fjord heritage BBQ lunch, sharing stories about the different ingredients and the dishes' connection to fjord life.

After lunch, the happy couple embarked on an SUV adventure photoshoot, capturing stunning wedding photos on the mountain and in the forest. Following the photoshoot, everyone returned to the hotel for a few hours of relaxation. An intimate dinner provided the perfect ending to a magical day.
